Q1: What does DAGC mean?

Q2: Is DAG related to other churches in Dhaka?
A: Dhaka Assembly of God Church (DAGC) is the Mother Church and having several branches all over Bangladesh.
Q3: Do our churches belong to a denomination?
A: Yes, to the Assemblies of God Church.
Q4: How can I become a member of DAGC ?
A: Keep coming to the church regularly. Take membership forms from the welcome table. Complete them and give them to one of the Pastors. They will have a meeting with you. Membership must be approved by the Church Board. You can become a member even if you are in Bangladesh for a short time.
Q5: What is a Care Group and where do I find them?
A: A Care Group is a group of 4 to 20 people that meets once a week, outside the church building with a purpose of evangelism, fellowship and discipleship with a goal of multiplication. All those who come to churches are encouraged to also go to a Care Group (also when you are here only for a short time). Ask one of the pastors for more information.
Q6: Can I be baptized in Water?
A: Yes. Fill in a Water Baptism form (on the welcome table). Give it to one of the Pastors who will make an appointment with you to talk about this. Baptism by total immersion takes place at DAG. Water Baptism service is usually held every last Friday of each month.
Q7: Can infants be dedicated at Church?
A: Yes. We do not baptize infants, but we do dedicate them and their parents to the Lord.
Q8: What is done with the general offering?
A: This is used to make the meetings possible and to support the pastors, evangelical work, reaching the souls, planting churches and to the related work.
Q9: What is done with the mission/compassion offering?
A: All funds received through mission pledges are used to finance our mission outreach. Presently we have 39 outreaches in Dhaka City and outside of Dhaka. We do support other churches through BAGC. We are also actively involved in compassion ministries, girls’ home, slum schools and other social-economic projects. All funds received through the compassion offering will be used to help those schools and people in need.
Q10: How can I give my tithes and offerings?
A: Cash in any currency. By cheque in the name of: Dhaka Assembly of God Church. Please put also your signature (two times) on the rear of the cheque. Contact one of the Pastors if you like to pay with a foreign currency cheque, or if you have any questions. Q11: Can I get a receipt on what I offer?
A: Yes, ask one of the Pastors. We can give a receipt on the spot or later. You can tick on the envelope also to get a money receipt.
Q12: What is a mission pledge?
A: A promise you make to support the Mission program of the Church. Twice a year (usually in March and September) you will be given the opportunity to make a pledge.
Q13: Is such a pledge a part of my tithe (10% of income)?A: No, a pledge is a special offering. Your tithe is given according to the Word of God. It’s to functioning of the Church.
Q14: What is “Vision 555”?
A: If a month has five Fridays, we collect a second offering for vision 555.
Our Vision-555 means:
v 5,000 - We vision to raise up 5000 Care Groups
v 50,000 - We vision to adequately witness to 50,000 people
v 5,000 - We vision to build 5000+ seating church building.
Q15: Is there a ministry for children?
A: Yes, there is a Creche for children age 0 to 3 at the side room to take care of the children. There is a Kids Church for children age up to 13. Creche and Kids Church children go to their own service during the sermon time. Every First Friday Children's church is held for all classes at the same time as the service.
Q16: Is there a youth ministry?
A: Yes, we are having two youth groups.
4Him (age 14-19 years) and Transformers (age 20 to above). Please contact any of the Youth Leaders or a Pastor for detail information.
Q17: How can I participate in the Church Ministries?
A: Contact one of the Pastors or a Ministry Coordinator (see ‘Who should I contact?).
Q18: Who to contact for counselling and prayer?
A: Contact one of the Pastors for further steps.
Counseling to married couples, or those who plan to marry is available.
Q19: What should I do when someone comes to me and asks for financial support?
A: Please do not go into discussion, before or after the Church service, with anyone who seeks a job or financial support for themselves or for projects. Contact one of the Pastors when this happens. Our purpose together is to worship the Lord, and not to be engaged in those things which should take place during the week.
Q20: Can I take pictures during or after the service?
A: As a principle NO pictures can be taken. Some people do not like to be photographed, and we need to respect their privacy. If you want to take a group picture with the consent of all involved, then you can do so. Church’s appointed persons may take photos or videos to use those safely.
Q21: What is Holy Communion, and when do you have it?
Holy communion or the Lord's table is for Christ believes. This is for those who have accepted Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. Regardless of your church affiliation, you can take part in the holy Communion, which is held every First Friday of the month.
Q22: Can I use my phone during the services?
A: You can keep your phone on to look at Biblical Scriptures. BUT PLEASE put your phone on silent mode and don’t answer your phone during the service, even someone is calling you.
